Introducing Eerie Holliday
I am Tara Nilan, a writer and artist from the Massachusetts South Shore. My work is rooted in folklore, faith, and the supernatural. My writing is shaped by evocative recollections of my own life.
I am currently writing Eerie Holliday, a gothic tale set in New England during the 1990s, early 2000s, and beyond—told through memories of childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. The main character, Eerie Holliday—whose name evokes Halloween—is a character I created from my inner child. Her memories, experiences, and emotions are drawn from my own life.
The strange moments that continue to haunt and delight Eerie begin in her earliest years, when she was unusually aware of what she could see, hear, and feel. Whether those experiences were spiritual, psychological, or something else entirely is a question she spends much of her life trying to answer.
This is more than a collection of ghost stories. It is my attempt to understand the unexplained through the experiences that shaped my life. Throughout the story, God meets Eerie in her darkest moments—even when she is unaware of His presence and struggles to understand what she has experienced.
Thank you for reading. I hope you find something within Eerie’s atmospheric world that stays with you long after you’ve left it.
